Past IPE Work in Aberdeen

The unique position of IPE in Aberdeen is that it reaches across two universities and across ten professional courses.

Since 2003 the focus on developing and integrating learning across the Faculty of Health and Social Care at Robert Gordon University and the School of Medicine and Dentistry at University of Aberdeen has grown from strength to strength.

The Growth of the Workshops

It commenced with a successful pilot study in 2003/4 of interprofessional workshops for all first year students across the Faculty of Health and Social Care at Robert Gordon University and the School of Medicine and Dentistry at University of Aberdeen.

Following this success second year students workshops were developed and the foundations of IPE became embedded within the first and second Year curricula of ten professional courses. These are: Diagnostic radiography; dietetics; medicine; midwifery; nursing; nutrition; occupational therapy; pharmacy; physiotherapy and social work.
